The 13th meeting was called to order by Charles Tapp at 7:15pm at the Jobsite Bar and Grill on 1 May 2006. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Chuck Tapp, Andrew Musto, Jeff Lewis, Russ Wilkerson and Rich Riggs.
The President introduced Mr Peter Scaletty. Mr. Scaletty briefed the group on a benefit dinner and silent auction entitled “Maya’s Miracles”, this event is conducted annually in September to raise awareness within the community of children who are affected by chronic life threatening illnesses and improve their lives. The money raised from this event will be donated to Camp ChiMer, which is an event of The National Kidney foundation and Children’s Mercy Hospital.. The KBEF has agreed to support this event with a run in September, details to follow. If any KBEF members which to donate or learn more about this great event go to

The next two guests were Mr. Mark Hudson and Mr. Dave Kopp owners of H & H Digital Photography. They both became corporate sponsors for a two year commitment, with Mr. Kopp also becoming a KBEF member. They have also agreed to take all the KBEF pictures at all of the events at no cost to the KBEF. OLD BUSINESS: The President provided Andy with one of the original patches from SID’s run and Andy will attempt to get the flyers for this years run finalized by the next meeting. Next. was the status of the KBEF tax extension, Russ says we are extended to 15 August and provided Jeff Lewis with Mr. Gary Gourley phone number. Jeff will contact Mr. Gourley and report back to the board at next meeting in June. The KBEF still owes an event to Side Pockets and it is still being discussed as to just what that event will be. The President provided Andy will 5 KBEF patches, if you are a KBEF member and do not have your patch let me know and I will mail it to you or hand deliver it. The last of the old business was the status of the Cooley Cups, Chuck has not heard from the vendor and has tasked Jeff Lewis to get in touch with Mr. Peter Scaletty as he may have a contact on getting Cooley Cups made up.
The President called for the Treasurer’s report:
Chuck and Jeff presented the Treasurer’s Report. The total amount in the fund to date is $5,003.68 and 70 T-shirts. This amount does not include the $200.00 plus in petty cash, the $500.00 Corporate Sponsor Money from H & H Digital Photography or the $ 60.00 membership fee for Janell Totten.
The President called for any new business:
NEW BUSINESS: The board and the KBEF members present welcomed the new corporate sponsors and new members as well. The month of July will be a busy one and the first 7 members of the KBEF membership dues are due. The KBEF received membership fee for Janell Totten. Next of the new business was to decide who was going to attend the event in Hutchinson in June. Chuck, Jeff, Andy and Mindi will be attending. Anyone else that wishes to ride out there with us are welcome. Jeff Lewis is running a special every Thursday buy one Tenderloin at regular price get a second one free and for any KBEF member that shows their KBEF membership card at the Jobsite you get any pizza in the house for ½ price, limit of 4 pizzas per month, that’s not a bad deal. So, lets go eat pizza at the Jobsite.
The next meeting will be conducted at the Cooney’s in Olathe at 7:00 pm. on 5 June 2006. Refreshments will be provided by Rich Riggs.
Chuck Tapp made a motion to adjourn the meeting, motion was seconded and meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm.
