The 14th meeting was called to order by Charles Tapp at 7:05pm at the Jobsite Bar and Grill on 5 June 2006. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Chuck Tapp, Andrew Musto, Jeff Lewis, Russ Wilkerson, Anita Shaw and Dave Kopp. The following guests were also present Mr. Darrell Hutason, and Mr Brett Zarger.
The President called for any old business.
OLD BUSINESS: First issue was the status of the filing of the KBEF taxes; Jeff has not been able to get in touch with Mr. Gary Gourley yet and will continue to pursue making the August 15th deadline. The next issue was corporate sponsors that are not included in the 15th of July Run, i.e. Side Pockets what would the KBEF do for them. It was decided that Side Pockets will be the first stop on the September run for Mayas Miracles. Next was status of Cooley Cups, 300 cups will be ready on the 8th of June. A check # 1009 for $370.00 was made out to CAM for the Cooley Cups. Next was discussing the rest of the Mayas run in September, all stops were discussed and a date decided on. It will be on 16 September with a rain date of 23rd the stops will be: Side Pockets, Kobi’s, The Tumbleweed, Aces and Eights and Jobsite. Mr. Brett Zarger is handling making up the flyers for this event. H & H Digital Photography will donate a family portrait valued at over $325.00 to be auctioned off at the Maya run in September. Next issue was to discuss Damon Birds accident, Damon has been a member of the KBEF since the 19th of July 2005. He and his wife were injured in an accident on May 27th 2006. It was decided that after expenses the KBEF would feel safe in giving Damon and his family a check for 5% of $5500.00. A check was made out for $275.00 and given to the Vice President who will personally delivery the check to Damon. In addition, Mr. Brett Zarger donated $50.00 to the KBEF when he heard of Damon’s accident. Last issue was the address change to the KBEF it is now 1318 E. Park, Olathe, KS 66061.
The President called for the Treasurer’s report:
Jeff Lewis informed the board there was $6977.39 before any outstanding expenses.
The President called for any new business:
NEW BUSINESS: Welcome to the new Corporate Sponsor and Members which are Larry Henry, Mark Scholl, Rick Combs, Slo-Ride, Aero Shine and Combs Custom Cycles. Next issue was discussing the Hutchinson Run meeting place and time. It will be at the Jobsite on Friday the 9th of June 2006 at 12:00. Next issue was to make a list of duties for Sid’s run, it was talked about and most of the duties assigned. Anita will do the raffle tickets, Chuck will check ID’s John Loney will run the Grill, Russ will handle getting the Port-A Pots delivered., Andy and Jeff will run the cards. The Jobsite had a Bikini Bike wash on Sunday 4 June and made $13.00 which the Jobsite matched and deposited $26.00 in the fund, thanks Jeff and staff of Jobsite. Next issue was a motion made to have the KBEF pick up some of the expenses for the Hutchinson run it was seconded and voted on and passed. The fund will cover gas expenses both ways and motel rooms keep your receipts and present them to Jeff when you get back. The last issue was to welcome Janell Totten as a board member, Janelle will be assisting with Treasury duties and possible some secretarial duties.
