The 16th meeting was called to order by Charles Tapp at 7:05pm at the Jobsite Bar and Grill on 7 August 2006. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Chuck Tapp, Andrew Musto, Jeff Lewis, Rich Riggs, Larry Henry, Mendy King, Dave Kopp and Brett Zarger.

OLD BUSINESS: The Secretary provided the Board with a list of members that are in arrears on their membership dues. Chuck Tapp, Andy Musto and Teri Hodges paid their dues for the second year of membership their caps will all increase to $1100.00. Still due are Charles Mason, Damen Bird and Steve Kolbeck. The next issue was to discuss some type of token of appreciation for the corporate sponsors that participated on the July 15th run. It was decided that the KBEF will draft a letter of appreciation that will be signed by the president and presented to each corporate sponsor that participated. The last issue of old business was to contact Dirty Harry to let him know we still needed to get the motorcycle light set that was auctioned off on Sid’s Run. Jeff Lewis called Dirty Harry up and talked with him and he assured Jeff that he would drop the light set off at the Jobsite, no date or time was set.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Lewis informed the board there was $7676.36 in the fund. Jeff presented the tax paperwork and each board member provided their home address and names, it was signed by the President. The tax preparer (Mr. Gary Gourley) charged the KBEF $100.00 to do the taxes and the State of Kansas charged the KBEF $40.00 to file it. Jeff also informed the board that in the future any non-monetary donations need to have a dollar amount value estimate for tax purposes. Mr. Brett Zarger volunteered to provide the KBEF with the Kansas State form that is used for donations. The next issue was Jeff informed the president that the KBEF debit card did not work when he attempted to use it to pay for the Johnny-on-the-Spots and Jeff informed Larry Henry to contact the guy who delivered the Johnny’s and let him know that the KBEF did not receive a bill and no one has come by to get paid for the use of the Johnny’s. Larry Henry will contact his friend to find out if the port a pots were donated or what.

NEW BUSINESS: Welcome to the new members which are Larry and Mary Grant and Kenneth Nave and welcome back to Chuck Tapp, Andy Musto and Teri Hodges for a second year of membership. Next issue was discussing an incentive program to award members for getting new members and corporate sponsors to sign up. The Secretary provided individual labels to be placed on the back side of the tri-folds on the application portion; this will allow easy identification of who was responsible for getting the member to join, plus allow us to keep a total on who signed the most members up. It was decided that a letter of appreciation will be provided to the member who signs the most members up in one year’s time. The next issue was discussing the Miya’s Run in September. All donations will left at the Jobsite prior to the run. Changes were discussed on the flyer and a new flyer will be coming out shortly. There were three motions made: #1 Change to the bylaws that will allow voting and decision making to continue whether or not there are 25% of the members present at a meeting, #2 to incorporate a 30 day grace period to renew your membership and #3 to retain Mr. Gary Gourley as the KBEF tax preparer.

The next meeting will be conducted at the Jobsite in Olathe at 7:00 pm. on 11 September 2006.
