Meeting Minutes from 3 March 2007
The 24th meeting was called to order by Rodney Rulon at 10:20 am at the Jobsite Bar and Grill on 03 March 2007. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Rodney Rulon, Andrew Musto, Jeff Lewis, Carey Guild, Chuck Tapp and Tracey Rulon.

OLD BUSINESS: The first order is to inform the board of what the bank account options are and decide if they want to go with a money market account or stay with the current account we now have. It was decide to go with the Investors choice account with a minimum account balance of $2000.00 and later as the fund grows we will move some cash into a performance Money market account. Jeff will handle changing the account at Hillcrest Bank in Olathe. Next order was to talk with Sponsors about events they would like help with. This is still on going and will continue until all of the Sponsors are satisfied with the assistance they received from the KBEF. Next was February membership dues: Mark Smith will not renew this year. The members present voted unanimously to grant John Petzold a 90 day extension on his membership. John will now be due for renewal on 17 May 2007. Next was the donation of a KBEF T-Shirt to all Corporate Sponsors, the following Sponsors still need their shirts-Kelly Cerrillo, Jack Messer, Susan Monslow, Chris Meyers and Mike Emberton. Individual board members were tasked to get in touch with these Sponsors to find out what size shirt they needed. Next Rich wanted the KBEF Corporate Sponsorship Application posted on the Website this was completed. Then Rich wanted to know if the KBEF would allow a 10-15% discount for Patriot Guard Riders if the joined the KBEF. It was voted on and decide that in the interest of encouraging membership growth, a $5.00 discount would be given to each new member if they signed up with at least five new members at the same time. This will only be for the first year of membership after that, each consecutive year fees will be full price. The next order was Jeff wanted to know how many hits the KBEF Website was getting from SpikesTrikes site, Andy provided the information to Jeff. Contact Jeff if you are interested on the numbers. Last order was Rodney had made a suggestion to changes the Bylaws Article XII as where the monies go in the event the KBEF goes defunct: this has been tabled and will be brought up at a later date.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Lewis informed the board there was $9645.13 in the fund. Wow! That is an increase of over $1250.00 in one month folks. Great job for all those that helped out this winter.

NEW BUSINESS: The first order of new business was to discuss membership and corporate sponsors dues. Rodney and Larry talked to Mike Emberton and Mike has renewed his Corporate Sponsorship for a second year. Gary Simpson still needs to be contacted. The only member that has membership fees due in March is Mendy King. Thanks to Tracey Rulon the KBEF picked up three new members this month they are: Charles Easley, Robert Foster and Marc Hershmann welcome to you all. Next order was it was decided that the KBEF Banner will remain at JR’s Place until the middle of March and then Rodney will take it to Beer 30 in De Soto for a month. Next order discussed was if the KBEF needs a yearly calendar of events, this was tabled. Next was the KBEF taxes, Jeff will provide Gary Gourley the necessary documents to have this years taxes filed. Next was Rodney has agreed to find out when the next American Bikers Relief Fund meeting is and attend it to discuss a possible joint event with the KBEF. Last order was to discuss ordering new KBEF shirts it was decided that the KBEF will purchase $400.00 worth of new shirts Jeff and Andy will get together and determine the sizes and numbers of men’s verses women’s shirts to order.

Rodney Rulon made a motion to adjourn the meeting, motion was seconded and meeting was adjourned at 11:45am
