The 26th meeting was called to order by Rodney Rulon at 7:06 pm at the Jobsite Bar and Grill on 07 May 2007. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Rodney Rulon, Rich Riggs, Andrew Musto, Jeff Lewis, Larry Henry, Darrell Hutson, Josh Monney , Chuck Tapp, Chris Hasten, Jason Piper, Joell Tanner, John Petzold and Kenneth Nave.
OLD BUSINESS: The first order was to discuss the status of the KBEF T-Shirts. T-Shirts have been picked up and are in the Office @ the Jobsite cost is $15.00 each if you would like to purchase one. We now have women shirts as well as mens. Next was to count the nomination forms and and here are the results: President= Josh Monney, Sergeant at Arms = Rich Riggs and Secretary= Andrew Musto.
Next order was to discuss the status of the KBEF taxes. Jeff informed the board that the taxes have been filed and he has not heard back from Mr. Gary Gourley yet. Jeff will contact Mr. Gourley this week to check on the status. Next was to discuss if Gary Simpson wishes to remain a Corporate Sponsor/Member, Andy talked to Gary this past week and he said he does not wish to be a Corporate Sponsor any longer, but remain a member. Andy will contact him later this month to get his membership fee.
Next order was to discuss Sid’s Run, the tentative stops for Sid’s run are as follows: Sign up @ Cooney’s, Fiesta Flavors, Cecil Mondays, Puckets, Wally’s and last stop Jobsite. Tentative band Static 210 (possible alternate bands include 3P’s and Glory Days), with a $5 cover for anyone who was not on the run. Jobsite will pay up to $200.00 for the band and the KBEF will pay up to $200.00 and keep all monies collected at the door.
Next was to discuss the TLC Bake Sale/BBQ. It was decided that KBEF members directly involved with this event will have another meeting on the 25th @ 7:00 pm @ the Jobsite to finalize all coordination for the event. Next was to discuss the position of the event coordinator, since the person in mind has not shown any interest in the position, a motion was made, seconded and voted on to close this issue.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Lewis informed the board there was $9552.52 in the fund. The new KBEF T-Shirts cost the KBEF $1016.11 and the KBEF also signed up the vendor, Olathe T-Shirt as a Corporate Sponsor at the same time. Jeff Lewis will double check with Hank, the owner, to see if he wishes to be a member as well. The KBEF also spent $136.50 for 50 new patches.
Larry Henry renewed his membership and the KBEF signed up Chris Hasten as a new member and Andy sold two of the new T-Shirts so we can add $145.00 to the total of $9552.52 which means we should have $9697.52 in the bank. Larry Henry received a new T-Shirt for his membership renewal; however Chris still needs to purchase one.
NEW BUSINESS: The first order of new business was to discuss membership and corporate sponsors dues. Jeff Lewis signed up one new Corporate Sponsor this month and Andy has another one ready to join. H &H Digital Photography signed up one new member as well. Welcome to you all. The KBEF has 3 corporate sponsors and 5 members due renewal fees this month they are: Corporate Sponsors: Jacqueline Daherty of Strickland Construction Company, John Burns of Burns Printing, and Rick Combs of Combs Custom Cycles. The members that are still due for renewal for the month of May are as follows: Joell Tanner, Bruce Hunt, Mark Scholl, David Coll, and John Kopp. Please try and assist Andy getting the word to these members as not all of them have email addresses.
Next order was to decide on if the KBEF will allow Burns Printing to pay their Corporate Sponsorship Fees with the free printing services it provides to the KBEF. Motion was made, Seconded and voted on and the motion passed to allow Burns Printing to remain a Corporate Sponsor through their services they provide to the KBEF. Next order was a motion was made to change the second sentence in Article IV of the bylaws to read “All officers will be seated to 1 term”. Motion was seconded and voted on. The motion passed for the first time and since this is a motion to change the bylaws it has to be brought up for a second consecutive meeting and voted on again, Motion will be brought up again at the June meeting
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made, motion was seconded and meeting was adjourned at 8:38 pm
