The 36th meeting was called to order by Josh Monney at 7:04 pm at the Jobsite Bar and Grill on 07 April 2008. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Josh Monney, Andrew Musto, Rodney Rulon, Chuck Tapp, Jeff Lewis, John Petzold, Larry Henry, Joel Koger, Kenny Nave, Marc Hirschmann, Bud Shaw and Lynn Faulkender. All of these members received their safety glasses in addition to Jeanene Lewis and Tracey Rulon.
Josh presented the inventory report and it was decided to purchase 20 more KBEF Shirts. Josh and/or Jeff will order 10 each Mens med shirts, 4 each 3XL mens shirts and 6 each XL womens shirts.
OLD BUSINESS: Jeff Lewis informed the forum that the 2007 taxes were completed at a cost to the KBEF of $150.00. Josh and Jeff signed the check for the taxes.
There where still no ideas for a KBEF fund raiser party at the Tumbleweed.
The next order was to vote for a second time on a purposed bylaw change to Article VI para e. by adding: Will be held accountable for holding the Debit card, however will not have knowledge of the PIN. This motion did not pass the second vote and is considered closed.
The Spring Swap meet that we were invited to by ABATE’s District 5 went well, Josh was able to talk to the Topeka Chapter of BACA and get some contacts, more to come on this. KBEF members John Melvin, Rodney and Tracey Rulon also attended and help setup this event. We sold 2 pair of glasses and the last 7 coozey cups. After paying the rent space for our table the KBEF made a profit of $8.00 on this event.
Andy collected 12 nomination forms. These will be counted at the next meeting.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Lewis presented the treasurers report. There is $13,456.90 in the fund.
NEW BUSINESS: The first order of new business was to discuss memberships and corporate sponsors. JT’s Grill and Sports Bar in De Sota has signed up as a corporate sponsor. JT’s membership was donated to Sherry Miller. Welcome to JT’s and Sherry. The following members renewed this month: Roger Jones, Bill Rossi and Marc Hirshmann.
The flyer for Sid’s run was passed around and all present decided it looked good and the dates, times and stops were ok. The Sergeant of Arms, Chuck Tapp appointed Joel Koger as this years Ride Captain for Sid’s Run. The flyer will be posted in May.
It was discussed and we are looking into purchasing more coozey cups. In addition to that we are looking into purchasing decorative license plates, with a motorcycle safety slogan on them, i.e. “Look Twice Save A Life” more to come on this at the next meeting.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting, motion was seconded and meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm. The next meeting will be conducted at the Jobsite at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th of May 2008.
