The 9th meeting was called to order by Charles Tapp at 7:00 pm at Russ Wilkerson’s home on 16 January 2006. The following individuals were present at the meeting: Charles Tapp, Charlie Mason, Andrew Musto, Russ Wilkerson and Rich Riggs.
The President called for the financial report. Charles Mason presented the financial report to the board. As soon as Chuck writes a check to the KBEF for $255.00 the account balance will be $3,995.60. Charles Mason also asked about the Tax ID number again and if the KBEF will have to file a tax return. Russ has not heard back on the tax ID license yet, but says he will attempt to contact Mr. Gourley again. As far as the board knows the KBEF should not have to file a tax return as we are a not for profit organization.
The President called for any old business.
OLD BUSINESS: Status of the KBEF patch was discussed and it was decided that Andrew Musto and Russ Wilkerson will check a couple of different sources next week and get back to the board on patch prices for 50 patches. The Patch design has already been determined; it will be the same as the KBEF logo. The next item of old business was the status of the tax ID license and as mentioned earlier, Russ Wilkerson will get in touch with Mr.Gary Gourley and check to see what the status is. Andrew Musto presented a flyer for the upcoming event at the Tumbleweed Bar and Grill and Chuck suggested that the KBEF logo be at the top of the flyer, Andy will make the changes and print up the flyers. The next item on the agenda was who was planning on attending the Poker Run in Hutchinson. Chuck and Andy say they will attend; Charlie and Russ may be able to make it. The last of the old business was discussing the breast cancer run in April, which has been moved some time in May and it was decided to table any further discussion until a later date. It was also decided to make Anita Shaw an honorary member of the KBEF for her efforts in helping promote the organization on her website.
The President called for any new business:
NEW BUSINESS: First order of new business was a motion made to lower the annual membership dues. A vote was taken and motion did not pass, dues remain the same. Next was to talk about any new corporate sponsors. Cooney’s Bar and Grill expressed interest in becoming a corporate sponsor to Rich as well as Beer 30, American Family Insurance and the Brickyard to Chuck. Renegade Classics also wants to get involved with the organization. The next order was to talk about officer elections and it was decided by the board that elections will not take place until 21 June 2007, due to the organization still getting started. The last item was a motion made to purchase a copy of Roberts Rule of Order for the organization and the motion passed and Charlie Mason will purchase a copy of the book. The next meeting will be conducted at Russ Wilkerson’s home at 1253 E Butterfield in Olathe at 7:00 pm. on 6 Feb 2006.
The President made a motion to adjourn the meeting, motion was seconded and meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm.
